Great Legends: Billy The Kid 2  In the Wild Wild West. Billy the Kid 2, is a follow up to the game (you guessed it), Billy the Kid. In Billy the Kid 2, Billy, has turned over a new leaf, and now wants to live his life peacefully instead of living the life of a criminal. However, when his friend is murdered, Billy takes off on a quest of vengeance that again brands him as a criminal in the eyes of the law. The first Billy the Kid had a great storyline, but the gameplay was so easy that it was a disappointment to me. Has Billy the Kid 2 improved?

Graphics have never been much of an issue for Billy the Kid, but this time, for Billy the Kid 2, the producers seemed to have decided to improve on what was already good, making Billy the Kid 2 a pleasure to play through. The landscape of the game is great and varied, and the animation, as well as character movement, is well thought out. The graphics lie a bit on the cartoonish side, which of course, renders this game suitable for most age groups. There’s even some variety of weather in this game, for example a particular mission I remember where Billy has to go through a series of gunfights in a raging storm, and now and then there will be flashes of light, simulating lightning. Of course, this made dodging bullets a little hectic when you’re keeping an eye on the bullets, and the screen flashes white a while due to lightning. However, it is definitely a nice touch.

In terms of music and sound, Billy the Kid 2, passes the grade with flying colors. I totally dig the menu music, and I find myself sometime switching the game on just to listen to it for a while. The theme of the music suits the game very well, with the old western cowboy tune playing like a sad harmonica (and is that a banjo I hear?). In the game however, there isn’t any music, but there are plenty of sounds to go around, pistols and rifles and shotguns going off and of course, the thunder when it's raining.

Gameplay has seen the most improvement since the original Billy the Kid. Gameplay is much more hectic, and certainly gets the gamer’s adrenaline pumping. The flow of enemies is pretty much constant, making the game more of an arcade/action adventure game. The storyline is pretty good, enough to put meaning into the continuous gunfights. The game really shines, even for heavy gamers, in hard mode. I think easy is perhaps a little too easy, but of course, would be suitable for children of a younger age. The pretty easy to understand tutorial helps you get to fighting almost immediately.

Sadly to say, there's nothing much going for it in terms of replayability (unless you want to play the campaign all over again, and maybe try to beat your old highscore). There isn't any multiplayer, or instant action games, but then again, this is the problem with all mobile adventure games.

However, after all's said and done, this game is definitely worth your time playing. The gameplay lasts long, and is pretty exciting. The music and graphics are good too. I personally recommend it.
